Description

Being a dual pediatric and orthodontic clinic raises a lot of challenges when it comes to design. On one hand, we want the children to feel comfortable, excited and most of all safe. On the other hand, we have to ensure the teenagers don't feel like they've just stepped into a daycare. To achieve this we strategically broke up the waiting area separating the ortho and pedo patients. The Pedo waiting area utilizes bold colors, unique materials, and comfortable safe furniture to create a modern kids zone. We chose to keep the ortho waiting area simple with modern art, mobile phone charging areas, and classic blue waiting room chairs. Utilizing tree branches attached to the hallway wall, a grass wall feature in the open bay, and exposed brick peeking out of the greenery; the patients truly feel as though they've been transported outside.
